If you’ve been looking for low-maintenance hair extensions that are practically invisible in most hair types and blend naturally into your current hair, we’ve got you covered!
DH Estetika now offers beautiful hand-tied hair extensions with 100% human hair. These incredible extensions look natural and offer the thinnest track of hair since they are a type of weft that is hand-sewn in, making them light and versatile.
If you don’t know much about hand-tied hair extensions, keep reading below, and we’ll tell you more about the method, the pros and cons, how long you can expect them to last, and more.
The Method of Hand-Tied Hair Extensions
Hand-tied hair extensions are a type of weft (a collection of hair strands woven on
a fine strip of cloth) that are hand-sewn into your natural hair. Wefts can vary in
size, but the ones for hand-tied hair extensions are one of the thinnest available.
That makes them highly desirable for many people as they are light and blend well with natural hair.
This method uses no glue, heat, or tape.
The process of getting this type of hair extension starts the same as most others.
You should first visit or call a hair salon and make an appointment for a
consultation. This first step is essential as it allows the stylist to look over your
hair and color and texture match extensions or discuss color options with you. If
you want to color your hair, your stylist will do that first and then match the
extensions. During this consultation, you can also discuss the length you’re
looking for as well as get any questions answered that you may have.
On the actual day of hair extensions installation you should expect to spend two
hours having them hand sewn in. The method of having the hand tied extensions
put in first starts with putting small sections of your natural hair through silicone
microbeads. One to three rows of these beads are applied around the head in a sort of horseshoe type shape. Once all of the microbeads have been placed, the stylist will begin to sew the hair pieces (or wefts) to the beads in rows.
Pros and Cons of Hand-Tied Hair Extensions
Hand-tied hair extensions have many pros and very few cons, which is one of the
reasons why they’re so popular. Here is a basic overview:
Pros
- Less expensive than other methods
- Less time in the salon
- Wefts may be reused many times
- Allows to create a solid plane “Cleopatra” cut
- Fewer tangles
- Blends very well
- You can still wear your hair up or down
- Style your hair as you wish with heating tools
- You can combine extensions and color visits 2 in 1 since you will have to
tighten the wefts every five weeks on average
Cons:
- Require more frequent salon visits compared to other methods, every 5
weeks on average - It may feel heavier than some other methods
- Putting your hair up may be tricky in the beginning, but you will find your
recipe!
Hand-tied hair wefts will serve you for about a year if you care for
them properly. However, as stated above, you must head to your salon
at least once every 4 to 8 weeks to tighten the rows.
Coloring and Styling Extensions
At DH Estetika, we always use 100% Remy human hair extensions. That means
you are free ещ style them any way you’d like! If your color needs a touch-up
when you come in to tighten your rows, we can do that. If you’re at home and want to curl, crimp, or straighten your hair, you can. This is the
main reason we only use 100% human hair and recommend you don’t use
anything else. If you have any questions about styling your hair at home, your
stylist will be happy to help you and show you tips and tricks.
A common complaint about hair extensions is being unable to wear your hair up.
That is not the case with hand-tied hair extensions! You can wear your hair up in a
ponytail, messy bun, or high bun and even braid it.
