injection of botox - fair priceHave you considered getting neurotoxin injections such as a Botox treatment before? A lot of men and women have considered getting them but don’t know much about them. Plus, the cost can be a deterrent for some people. Many places that offer these injections charge by areas. They offer a one size fits all type of solution when most of the time it’s not in your best interest (see examples below). That’s why at DH Estetica, we like to focus on fair pricing for Botox treatment as well as other neurotoxin injections. However, what is considered fair pricing? How do the injections work? Continue reading below and we’ll answer all of these questions and more.

What are Neurotoxin Injections?

Neurotoxin injections are the single most popular cosmetic treatment in the United States. They are primarily used to smooth wrinkles and erase fine lines. However, they do have other medical uses beyond this such as for the treatment of dystonia. Botulinum type A is the most common type of injection used for cosmetic treatment. It can be found under such brand names as Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin, Jeuveau, with Botox being the most widely used.
These treatments work by blocking nerve impulses to the muscles. This, in turn, causes them to relax and softens your expression. The most common areas treated with Botox injections include crow’s feet (around the eyes), forehead lines, and frown lines. It’s important to note that Botox or other neurotoxin injections won’t help sun damage or wrinkles simply caused by gravity. The Benefits of Botox Treatment

There are many benefits to Botox treatment even beyond a younger-looking appearance. They are able to help with excessive sweating, neck spasms, lazy eyes, and chronic migraines. Even still, the cosmetic application is what Botox and other neurotoxin injections are now most widely used for. The most common areas treated by Botox are places where we express our feelings through our facial movements. This is often done through actions like squinting, smiling, frowning, and more. Over time, these frequent movements can lead to wrinkles and lines around those areas. Here is a list of the most commonly treated areas:

  • Glabellar lines (“elevens”/frown lines)
  • Wrinkles or lines around the eyes (“crow’s feet”)
  • Forehead horizontal creases
  • Around the chin to smooth bumpy or “cobblestone” appearance

The benefits of Botox treatment include smoother looking skin, a relaxed appearance, and softer expression, as well as looking younger and more refreshed! On another positive note, Botox treatment is completely safe with little to no side effects.

How Botox and Other Neurotoxin Injections Are Priced

After you’ve read all about what Botox is and the benefits involved, you’re likely interested in getting some injections done yourself. So, you may look around online or call several places to check the pricing. It’s at this point you’ll start to notice that most locations that offer Botox treatment will charge by the area. For example, you’ll likely hear something like $500 for the area around your eyes or $400 for the forehead. We consider it a bit unfair. For example you personally might only require 10 units of Botox for your forehead while another patient needs 20 units. Why does this matter? Because you’ll most likely end up paying for 15-17 units whether you need that much or not. That’s why at DH Estetica, all of our neurotoxin injections including Botox  and Xeomin are priced by the unit, a more customized approach.
For instance, when you decide to get Botox for the first time, you may want to try 10 units in order to not overtreat the area. That means you’d only be charged $140 for that area. However, if you find that you’d like to see if you can get stronger results the next time, you might come back for 15 units and this time the price would be $210 for the area.
